Ballyduff win back to back County Senior Hurling league titles

BALLYDUFF retained the County Senior Hurling League, Division 1 title following their 0-18 to 1-13 win over Causeway in the 2018 Final played last Saturday at Causeway.

This was a tight, closely contested game all through. The home side led by 1-9 to 0-8 at half-time, but Ballyduff edged ahead as the second half progressed and were well worth their two point winning margin at the finish.

After the game the Nicholas Scollard Cup was presented to the Ballyduff captain, Paud Costello, by Paudie Dineen, Hurling Officer, Coiste Chontae Chiarraí and Jack O’Sullivan (grandnephe­w of Nicholas Scollard). Match referee was Tom Godley (Kilmoyley) while Pádraig Boyle won the Man of the Match Award.

Munster Club

ON Saturday last, Kilgarvan were defeated 1-22 to 2-9 by the Limerick champions, Tournafull­a, in the Munster Junior Hurling Championsh­ip quarter-final.

North Kerry

BALLYDUFF won the North Kerry Under 16 A Championsh­ip on Sunday last when they defeated Ballyheigu­e in the final by 1-13 to 1-9.

The game was played at the John Mitchels GAA Complex. The winning captain, JP O’Carroll, was presented with the Thomas ‘Son’ O’Sullivan Trophy by Christy & Donie O’Sullivan, Abbeydorne­y. Player of the Match was Kevin Goulding and match referee was Liam Goggin.

The North Kerry Hurling Board Annual Awards function will take place at Ballyroe Heights Hotel on Friday, 30 November.

Coaching

THE Tralee Parnells Autumn Hurling Academy Week 5 takes place on this Friday, November 16 at the Tralee Sports Complex.

It is open to new and current players and a hurley and helmet will be available for new players.

For Under 6 (2012/2013/2014) - indoor training for boys and girls from 6pm to 6.45pm.; Under 8 (2010/2011) - indoor training for boys 6.45 to 7.30pm.; Under 10 (2008/2009) - Astro pitch training for boys 6pm to 7pm.

Cost is €3 per session. The club Annual General Meeting will take place on this Friday at 8pm at Kerins O’Rahillys GAA Details on the Tralee Parnells Facebook page.
