CASTLEGREG­ORY’S 100% record went out the window in West Kerry on Sunday when they went down to a very spirited Park side who have ignited their title aspiration­s with this win.

Seán McGrath, Preston McEvoy and David Oba scored for the Tralee side. Castlegreg­ory scored a late consolatio­n goal from the penalty spot with Brandon Hoare finding the net from 12 yards.

Castlemain­e United 4 Inter Kenmare 3

CASTELMAIN­E United move up the league table after a good win over Inter Kenmare in a very competitiv­e game. Jerome Flynn (2), and Kieran Griffin scored for the mid Kerry side while their other goal was an own goal.

Killorglin B 1 Classic FC B 0

THERE wasn’t much in the game with both sides creating chances with Classic having a couple of good chances one coming back off the crossbar.

It was Anthony Abogunrin who broke the deadlock in what was his first goal for the club in the 38th minute, which turned out to be the difference between the two sides. It was a first win of the season for Mike Griffin’s men and they are hoping they have turned the corner.

Mastergeeh­a 0 Ballymac Celtic 3

AFTER encounteri­ng a minor hiccup in their last game Ballymac Celtic moved back to joint table toppers with Annascaul/Inch United after a good win over Mastergeeh­a.

Ballymac went ahead early in the game when Darragh Regan raced on to a long goal kick from Brian Lonergan and he weaved past three players and found the top corner of the net from 25 yards. After this Mastergeeh­a had a couple of chances but they could not find the net.

Ballymac doubled their lead in the 65th minute when Dwyer Tobin used his dainty footwork and skill to get past a number of players and he finished to the net from close range. Tobin put the game to bed in the 80th minute with another great finish

DENNY DIVISION 2B

CG Killarney B 5 Ballyheigu­e Athletic B 2

NEW kids on the block CG Killarney are making their presence felt in this division and they could be very serious title contenders if they can keep their consistent form going.

This win brings them up to second in the table two points behind Kilmyley who have maximum points from five games.

They collected their three points in this game with a comfortabl­e win. Conor Collins (2), Bogdan Pop, Danny Sheehan and Mike Daly scored for the winners with assists from Mike Daly, Mike Griffin, Bogdan Pop, Conor Collins and Owen Kerrisk.

Best players for the winners were Ronan Walsh, Dwayne Griffin and David McSweeney.

Aaron James and Conor Galwey scored for Ballyheigu­e. UCD captain Gary O’Neill capped off a memorable season lifting the Airtricity Division 1 Player of the Year at the PFAI Awards at the weekend.

Gary led UCD to win the Airtricity Division 1 League title and can look forward to playing in the Premier League next season.
