TEMPLEGLANTINE
THE HONEY SPIKE
Tarbert Theatre Players gave a faultless, tour de force performance of Bryan MacMahon’s Play, The Honey Spike, over two nights to packed houses in Tarbert Community Centre. With a cast of twenty and a strong back up supporting team, they rose admirably to their biggest theatrical challenge yet and they did not disappoint. Characterisations, stage presence, accents, dialogue, creativity, set designs, sound techniques and costumes all combined to give us a wonderful performance.
There were wonderful individual acting performances including three new cast members as British Army squaddies. It would be hard to single out one performance over another but if this reviewer had only two Oscars to award they would go to Yvonne O’Keeffe Fox and Priscilla Donovan. The Play now moves to St. John’s, Listowel for four nights with pre-booking essential. Hopefully after that it will go on the Amateur Drama circuit where it should pick up some awards. Comhghairdeas do gach éinne a bhí páirteach agus go néirí libh as seo amach.
