Near-runner Pixie back for another crack at council seat
THREE men named Michael launched campaigns for council seats in the Listowel Municipal District area this week: Sitting Listowel Cathaoirleach Mike Kennelly (FG), Michael Foley (FG) and Independent Michael ‘Pixie’ O’Gorman. And there could be a fourth Michael by the end of the week as speculation mounts that Mikey Sheehy Jnr is poised to announce for Fianna Fáil in Tralee. Mike Kennelly is well-placed as Listowel Cathaoirleach to retain his seat, with ‘Pixie’ O’Gorman a strong contender too based on his results in the general. Michael Foley comes to the contest with a solid profile already, through his work for Fine Gael over the years.
