Patrick Lyne selected by Fine Gael in Kenmare district
VALENTIA’S Patrick Lyne of Cooil was ratified as a Kerry County Council Fine Gael election candidate for the Kenmare Municipal District area at its Convention, which was held recently in the Ring of Kerry Hotel, Cahersiveen.
He will contest the upcoming local elections in May in partnership with his running mate, Patrick O’Connor Scarteen of Kenmare.
Patrick Lyne made his first media contribution of the campaign last week in an interview with Radio Kerry’s Jerry O’Sullivan, outlining his ideas and ambitions for the district.
He cut his political teeth a number of years ago as Chairman of the Fine Gael South Kerry Executive and also as a campaigner for Fine Gael candidates in local and general elections.
He is a former Valentia Young Islanders footballer and oarsman, with his family very much involved in South and Mid-Kerry Rowing and music.
He is also a farmer and builder who, down through the years, has travelled the South and Mid-Kerry area extensively in his role as a Munster Cattle Breeding Group inseminator.
The son of late parents Con and Katie Lyne of Cooil, his wife, Breeda (née Hendrick), is a native of Dublin, and they have three daughters: Ciara, Amy and Chloe.
Congratulations are extended to Patrick and family on his appointment to the campaign, and all good wishes are extended to them.
