St. Mary’s 46 TK Bobcats 32

ST. Mary’s U14 Girls proved just too strong for TK Bobcats as they secured the Division 1 Cup with a 46-32 win. Bobcats took the early initiative to lead 10-8 at the end of the first with Roisin Rahilly in great shooting form and Hanna Herlihy keeping Mary’s in touch. St. Mary’s asserted in the second quarter to drive on with scores from Ciara Casey and Muireann Walsh giving them a 19-13 half time lead.

St Mary’s continued to build their lead early in the third with Shauna Tangney, Katie O’Connor and Ciara Cronin all in range as Bobcats through Roisin Rahilly and Rachel Griffin tried desperately to keep in touch. However despite the efforts of Rachel Creedon and Ciara Palmer, a brilliant final quarter from St. Mary’s Muireann Rahilly saw her hit nine points to see out the win for the Castleisland side by 14 in the end. SCOTTS Lakers got a walkover from LYIT Donegal last Saturday, a decision that keeps Lakers in second place in the Southern Conference with a 16-3 record, behind leaders Ballincollig with their 17-2 record.
