Listowel Celtic and QPR secure Premier wins with four goals
DENNY PREMIER A
Mitchels Avenue 0 Listowel Celtic 4
LISTOWEL Celtic cruised up to second place in the league table after a comfortable win over Mitchels Avenue at Mounthawk Park on Sunday.
Ashley Kelliher, Paul O’Connor, Jack Sheahan and Bobby Angland scored for the Fealesiders.
Listowel Celtic could be the dark horses in Premier A this season as nobody has taken too much notice of them so far but now other clubs are beginning to look over their shoulders as the Fealesiders move up to a challenging position in the title race.
With Killarney Celtic almost certain to make the decider that second place for the final is very much up for grabs and it will be an intriguing battle to see who will secure it.
Castleisland, Dingle Bay Rovers, Killarney Athletic, Fenit Samphires and Listowel Celtic are in the mix and it is anyone’s guess as to who will make the final and it could go down to the final series of games before the matter is decided and a play off is a distinct possibility also.
DENNY PREMIER B
Killorglin 1 QPR 4
A BIT of a surprise here with relegation troubled QPR defeating possible title contenders Killorglin. This win takes the East Kerry side off the foot of the table and they should be strong enough to move to safety before the season is over.
Ir was a bit of a setback for Killorglin’s bid to qualify for the decider and they can’t afford too many more slip ups if they are to remain in the title race.
John Moynihan, Ian O’Leary, Paul Cooney and Shane Reen scored foor the winners while Lee Carey scored for Killorglin.
