Just weeks away to the first Munster Property Auction of 2019

-

THE Munster Property Auction is on February 28 at The Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork. The company will hold a total of 5 public auction events and 11 online auction dates in 2019. The auction team is once again expecting another busy year ahead, albeit with more modest increases in capital values expected due to Central Bank lending restrictions and a maturing marketplace.

Over the past 12 months, construction activity has improved with upwards of 18,000 new homes built - up from less than 15,000 in 2017. What does this increase in new builds mean for buyers and vendors thinking of entering the property market in 2019?

Patrick Convey, Director of The Munster Property Auction, said that ideally this will lead to a more stable market with more options for people seeking to get on the property ladder, or indeed making a residential move. The figures show that capital value increases have slowed, and there is no longer ‘ large spikes’ in property prices as seen in previous years.

While property prices have appeared to have stabilised, the market is still experiencing strong appetite from both homeowners and investors for realistically priced property that should continue into 2019.

Mr Convey added: “Our first public auction of 2019 will take place on February 28th, and we have an extensive database of both local and overseas buyers, seeking to purchase all varieties of property in the Munster area. We believe the success of our auctions is due to the large marketing campaigns we undertaken in Ireland and abroad as well as strong working partnerships with local auctioneers across the province. We remain the only auction company in Ireland who do not charge any upfront costs to enter a property into auction.”
