Waterville to enjoy the ‘Hedy!’ show

FRESH from show in St John’s theatre in Listowel last week, Heather Massie is all ready to bring her new show about the life of Hedy Lamarr to Kerry this weekend.

The new show is entitled ‘HEDY! The Life & Inventions of Hedy Lamarr’ and tells the story of Hollywood screen star and inventor Hedy Lamarr.

Written and performed by Massie, the aim of the show is to help to encourage young women in both science and technology while also establishi­ng Hedy Lamarr as a role model for intelligen­ce and ingenuity.

Once known as one of the ‘most beautiful woman in the world’, Lamarr also helped to invent technology for torpedo’s during WWII - much of which is used in the phones, Wi-Fi and GPS that we used today this show is not one to be missed.

The show toured in countries such as the US, Ireland, South Africa, Northern Ireland, Italy Sweden and Zimbabwe.

Described as “captivatin­g” by The Huffington Post, “Highly Inventive” by The Irish News and “Fascinatin­g” by the Belfast Times, it’s coming to Kerry with a good reputation.

The Carnegie Arts Centre in Kenmare will see a the show performed there on Saturday February 9; it will then be shown in the Tech Amergin in Waterville the next night on Sunday February 10.
