COUNTRY AND WESTERN DANCES

If you are a country and western fan read on!. There will be a series of country and western dances in Scartaglin Heritage Centre on Sunday nights commencing on Sunday March 24th. Providing entertainm­ent that night will be the very popular PJ Murrihy. On the following Sunday evening March 31st Dermot and Grene Ring will be present. After that there is Neily O Connor and his band and Michael Collins. Dancing will be from 9pm to 11.30pm and admission is €10.

MOBILE LIBRARY

The mobile librarys next visit to Scartaglin will be on this Thursday March 14th with opening hours being 9.45am to 10.15am and the service is free.

AFTERNOON OF PRAYER

The next afternoon of prayer in Our Lady of Lourdes Church Scartaglin will be on Sunday next March 17th when Janice and Moss Carrig will be present. Starting time as always will be at 2.30pm and all are welcome.

The Irish Wheelchair Associatio­n wish to thank everyone who contribute­d so generously to their recent church gate collection. A word of thanks also to those who helped to take up this collection which raised €1262.

LENTEN TALK

“Resting the Mind and Renewing the Heart” is the title of a Lenten talk which will be given by Martina Lehane Sheehan in the River Island Hotel, Castleisla­nd on Thursday night next March 14th from 7.30 to 9pm.

COLLECTION

The church gate collection this weekend is the annual Diocesan Collection in aid of Immigrant services. Your support would be appreciate­d.
