Killarney Celtic face Granagh United while Killarney Athletic play Carrig Celtic.

Killarney Celtic v Granagh United

KILLARNEY Celtic will go into their game as favourites as they face a Limerick side who are in the lower region of the Desmond League Premier Division. However, they need to be cautious and no doubt manager Brian Spillane will have his homework done and this is a game Celtic should win.

In their path so far Killarney Celtic defeated Desmond League side Shannonside 11-0 in the opening round and defeated Clare side Coole FC 5-0 in the last round.

Their opponents Granagh United defeated Clare side Bunratty/ Cratloe 10-2 in the opening round and defeated Adare United 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out after the game ended 2-2.

Verdict: Killarney Celtic

Killarney Athletic v Carrig Celtic

MEANWHILE Killarney Athletic travel to West Limerick and should have a good chance against Carrig Celtic. They play in the Premier division of the Desmond League and are struggling to avoid relegation.

Athletic boss Stuart Templeman will have his side well geared up for the game and if they play up to scratch and are well capable of winning this game. They took a major scalp in the opening round defeating Desmond League side Abbeyfeale United 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out after the game ended 2-2 after 90 minutes.

The lowered the sails of another big club in the second round defeating Clare side Ennis Town 2-1 after extra-time. Their opponents Carrig Celtic defeated Clare side Rineanna 6-0 in the opening round and defeated Desmond League side Kilcolman 4-3 in the last round.

There is a lot at stake in these two games as the winners go into the last 64 open draw stage of the national competition.

Verdict: Killarney Athletic
