COMHBHRÓN
The death occurred at Adare and District Nursing Home on Thursday, October 31h of Mary Brosnahan, Devon Road. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Her remains lay in repose at Harnett’s funeral home on Friday evening before removal to Templeglantine Church where the funeral mass was celebrated on Saturday. Burial took place afterwards in Reilig na Tríonóide. She is survived by sisters, Kitty, Ellen and Margaret, brother-inlaw Raymond, nephews, nieces and other relatives. Go dtuga Dia suaimhneas síoraí dá hanam.
LARGE CONGREGATION
A large congregation attended the annual November Remembrance Mass on Sunday last when those who died during the past twelve months were prayed for and a family member brought a candle to the altar in their memory. The choir and soloist sang beautifully during the ceremony. Afterwards there were prayers and blessing of the graves in Reilig na Tríonóide and at 3pm a similar ceremony took place at the Old Cemetery, Church Road. Beannacht Dé ar anamacha na marbh.
SALE OF WORK
Preparations are underway for the annual parish Sale of Work and Bazaar which will take place at Halla Inse Bán on Sunday, November 24. Santa will also be appearing and children from near and far will have an opportunity of meeting up with him in his grotto.
BUÍOCHAS
The organisers of the annual collection for the upkeep of the two local cemeteries, Reilig na Tríonóide and the Old Cemetery at Church Road, wish to say míle buíochas to all who contributed so generously on Sunday last. Both cemeteries are kept in excellent condition throughout the year. The proceeds of the collection go towards purchase and maintenance of equipment as well as fuel costs.
COMHALTAS
The County Finals of Ceol an Gheimhridh will take place in Glin on Sunday next, November 10, tosnú 11am. Most of the competitions will be held in the Primary School but dancing and céilí bands will be in Halla Ceol Corbhaí. Competitions are for the u11 and u14 age categories. The Teampall an Ghleanntáin craobh will have representatives in music, singing and storytelling events. Many have now renewed their membership for the new Comhaltas year, míle buíochas. Any others who would like to join are asked to do so as soon as possible. The adult musicians who attend the weekly class at Halla Inse Bán were joined by many of their musical friends for an enjoyable session on Sunday evening last in Abbeyfeale.
PARISH MISSION
A Mission will take place for the combined parishes of Templeglantine, Tournafulla and Mountcollins from November 9 to 24. The first week will entail visitations and the preaching mission will take place during the second week.
