Killorglin ‘C’ 2 Windmill United ‘B’ 2

WINDMILL took an early lead going ahead after just eight minutes with a well executed free kick.

After this Killorglin started to get into the game and were rewarded for their efforts with Aiden O’Sullivan nipping in between Windmill’s defenders and tucked away his shot with great precision.

It looked like it was going to be level at the break but with time nearly up Windmill were awarded a penalty which they converted. Killorglin took the initiative in the second half with some great work all over the field with Christian Flemming and Brice Dorieu causing Windmill all sorts of problems.

It looked as if they had a lifeline when Aidan O’Sullivan was taken down in the box resulting in a penalty lick. The usually deadly spot kick specialist Kieran O’Shea was given the task of taking the spot kick but it was saved by the Windmill goalkeeper.

Now Killorglin had to dig deep and with some fresh legs on in the likes of Dean Callan and Ronan O’Shea kept the pressure on and it eventually paid off when Brice Dorieu dropped in a fantastic ball which the Windmill keeper seemed to misjudge and ball ended up in the net. Both sides had chances after that but it finished level which was probably a fair outcome at the end.
