New Frontier fund for start-up firms
ENTERPRISE Ireland (EI) is offering new business start-ups in Kerry the opportunity to avail of up to €22,500 to fund their new business idea, in addition to a suite of supports designed to help them to grow and to scale.
Funded by EI and delivered by Institutes of Technology and Universities across Ireland, the New Frontiers Programme has been running in Kerry since 2012 and provides budding entrepreneurs with a package of supports. These include funding of up to €22,500 per participant; office space; mentoring and workshops; access to R&D facilities; and peer-topeer learning opportunities to help accelerate their business development.
“To date, New Frontiers in Kerry has supported over 300 entrepreneurs through,” said Sarah Flaherty, New Frontiers Programme Manager. “For entrepreneurs with an innovative business idea that have recently or are planning to establish their own business, the funding and supports available through the programme can help to accelerate growth in a supportive environment.’
The programme is open to applicants over 18, from a range of sectors including food and consumer products; information and communication technology; engineering and electronics; medical devices; biotechnology; pharma, digital media; cleantech/renewable energy and internationally-traded services. Applications are now open for Phase One of the programme, beginning the week of March 1, 2020 in Tralee. It will be held part-time at evenings and weekends over four weeks.
