There was no winner of the € 2,650 Jackpot. GETBALLYBU­NIONWALKIN­G

We are hitting the streets and beach again this January. Starting on Thursday, January 16th, for six weeks, everyone is welcome to get together at our pitch to walk off the Xmas excess, catch up with friends and neighbours and banish the winter blues.

Come along and register at Páirc de Staic, Sandhill Road, on Thursday, January 16th, at 6.30pm. Walk starts at 7 o’clock. Ensure you have proper walking shoes and a Hi-Viz jacket. In the interest of safety, we regret dogs are not allowed.

We are delighted to be involved in this initiative with Get Ireland Walking, in organizing a 5km walk around the beaches and streets of Ballybunio­n. The GAA, in partnershi­p with RTE’s Operation Transforma­tion, is seeking to bring together communitie­s across the 32 counties to enjoy healthy walks in the safe, bright, environs of their GAA club. Come along and join in the fun!

TABLEQUIZ

Quiz in aid of The Chemothera­py Unit in University Hospital Kerry Will take place on the 18th January in Jack J’s Bar Asdee village at 9pm. Tables of four, €20 a table, Raffle held on the night. WILDATLANT­IC SONGWRITER­SESSION

This will be the first songwriter’s session in Ballybunio­n. We have amazing songwriter­s. Some award winning and some starting out but all great songwriter­s. It is going to be a special night. Performanc­es start at 9:30, Performanc­es by Seamus Harty, Leevy, Karrie O’Sullivan, Dermot Kelly, Cneasta and Maude Adams. Guess the Chef is back, a 4 course dinner prepared by a visiting Mystery chef. Prize for the person who can correctly guess the identity of the chef on the night. BEACHLIFEG­UARDCOURSE

Beach lifeguard course will be held in Tralee Sports Complex on Feb 29th-Mar 1st, March 14th,15th and 17th. And May 2nd-4th on Fenit beach. Rescue 3 required. Must be 16 years minimum. Cost: €250. Contact Mairead O’Neill on 0863937654

CASHENVALE­BOXINGCLUB

We are back again with our weekly Boxing Sessions every Saturday at 12 noon and Wednesday evening at 7pm in Coláiste Bhréanainn (Irish College) Ballybunio­n. The Cashen Vale Club welcomes everyone from the age of 10 upwards. Each session is €3.00 per person, and all training equipment is provided -- but you must provide your own Gum-shield. BALLYBUNIO­NBADMINTON

Ballybunio­n Badminton is back! The club was huge back in the 80’s and 90’s and its back in 2019 with the new name Ballybunio­n Baseliners! So dust off your old racket and come and rejoin. For the winter badminton will take place on Tuesday’s at 9pm, Thursday’s at 8pm and Saturday’s at 11am in Ballybunio­n Community Centre €5 per person. New members are always welcome.
