NORTH KERRY LEAGUE: Ballylongford 1-9 Ballyduff 2-9Ballylongford lost out to Ballyduff in their opening round of Division 2 of the North Kerry League played at O’Rahilly Park.Ballyduff had the aid of the wind in the opening half and had 1-5 on the board by half Time with the goal coming from Cian McGrath who was fastest to react to a rebound after a good save from Shane Sullivan,with Philip Lucid and Kevin Goulding also getting on the scoresheet.Ballylongford had some good passages of play kicking over four points from Joe and Liam McCarthy, Ciaran O’Connor with Liam Mulvihill chipping in with a 45.Half Time Score Ballylongford 0-4 Ballyduff 1-5Ballylongford closed the gap to a point halfway through the half with Ciaran O’Connor providing the scores,but Ballyduff who had a strong midfield partnership in Paud Costello and Jack Sullivan guaranteed their forwards of a good supply of ball and Philip Lucid added 1-2 in quick succession along with Johnny Regan 2 putting them eight points clear. Ballylongford pushed forward with Joe McCarthy and Michael Tydings kicking over a point apiece before Michael Tydings netted from close range with time running out.
