INDOOR SOCCER U10 GIRLS

Congratula­tions to Duagh/Lyre Community games u10 indoor soccer team who won pewter medals in the Co competitio­n last Saturday in Duagh sports complex. Duagh/Lyre were drawn in the group of four, beat by eventual winners Kenmare in their first game 3-1, winning the second game 3-0 against Abbeydorne­y/ Kilflynn and a strong game and win over Killorglin 2-1 in their final group game to secure a place in the playoffs. The final game the girls were out on their feet after putting in tremendous effort and lost to Spa/Fenit/Barrow, taking home pewter medals.

A great days work by the girls and great effort put in over the past few weeks at training. Team: Kate Sheridan, Isabel Cahill, Olivia O’Brien, Chloe Danagher, Aisling Maher, Abbie McElligott and Lucy Kelly. Thanks to coaches Jason and Caoimhe Harte for training and preparing the team. Thanks to the parents for their support over the past few weeks. Most of all we know the girls really enjoyed the experience.

MUSIC/SINGING

Best of luck to our participan­ts representi­ng Duagh/Lyre in music on Sat Feb 8th in Keel Community centre and to those representi­ng Duagh/Lyre in singing on Sunday 9th in Keel Community centre. Further details next week.

SWIMMING

Competitio­n at Tralee sports complex on Feb 16th. Training: Draughts - Draughts training continues Monday evening at Duagh sports complex, top floor ** note change of venue**.U10 7pm to 8pm. U12,14&16 8pm to 9pm. Minimal charge €1.

ART/HANDWRITIN­G

This event will be held in Duagh National School on Friday 7th Feb at 7pm to 8.30pm, participan­ts will be accommodat­ed on the night if taking part in both handwritin­g and art. Handwritin­g U10 and U12. Art U8 to U16. Art work judged independen­tly and participan­ts will be notified in due course. Co competitio­n on Feb 29th in Listowel.
