SETDANCINGWEEKEND
The Devon Inn Hotel will be the venue for the annual set dancing weekend under the auspices of the West Limerick Set Dancing Club. It commences on this Friday, February 7 at 7.30pm with a music and singing session. Taylor’s Cross Céilí Band will play for the céilí which follows at 9pm. The set dancing workshop gets underway on Saturday at 10.30am. The Neily O’Connor Céilí Band will supply the music for the Saturday night céilí and the Johnny Reidy band will play for the Sunday céilí, tosnú 3pm.
ELECTION
Local voting in the General Election takes place at Halla Inse Bhán on Saturday next. Polling commences at 7pm and continues until 10pm allowing an ample opportunity for all to cast their votes. Voters are advised to bring a form of photo ID with them to the polling station.
COMHALTAS
A new nine week term of traditional music classes will commence at Halla Inse Bán on Monday next, February 10. The traditional singing classes continue on Wednesday nights and the Rince Inse Bhán dancing classes are also in full swing. The Munster Finals of Ceol an Gheimhridh take place in Dromcollogher on Sunday, February 16, tosnú 11am. DRAMAGALORE
Abbeyfeale Drama Group present their comedy “Love Knots” at Fr Casey’s Club House on February 6, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 16 with doors opening at 7.15 each night. The Athea Drama Group are also getting into action this week when they stage their comic drama “Looking for Love” at Con Colbert Memorial Hall on Thursday night and further performances on February 8, 9, 13, 15 and 16. The West Limerick Drama Festival takes place in Knockaderry from 6th to 8th February.

In conjunction with the feasts of Candlemas and St Blaise the blessing of candles and throats took place at masses on last weekend. Masses in our parish church this week, Monday 10am, Tuesday to Friday 11am with Fr Hurley, Saturday 6pm, Sunday 10am.
