Dingle at the top table of hospitality awards
RESTAURANTS and accommodation providers in Dingle are once again featured amongst the best in Ireland, maintaining a strong presence in the 2020 edition of internationally recognised guidebooks.
The guidebook reviews augur well for the forthcoming season with Dingle tourist businesses maintaining operations at the highest level.
Three accommodation providers in Dingle are listed in the Mc Kenna’s 100 best Places to Stay in Ireland - Castlewood House, Greenmount House and Pax House. Top class accommodation and excellent restaurants go hand in hand and local restaurants are holding up their end with the Global Village and Solas Tapas listed by McKenna’s among the 100 best restaurants in the country.
Local restaurants have also earned a place in the exclusive Michelin Guide with The Chart House and Land to Sea getting ‘Bib Gourmand’ listings, while The Global Village and Out of the Blue are also recommended by the international guide.
Meanwhile, at the Georgina Campbell Breakfast Awards held in Dublin recently Heaton’s Guesthouse was in the top three in the guesthouse category and received a ‘ highly recommended’ award. Their neighbours – and extended family members – in the adjacent Castlewood House won the same award last year, adding to their by now very extensive list of recommendations.
Davis Heaton, the proprietor of Heaton’s, was delighted with the recognition. “We are so proud to showcase the produce of the Dingle Peninsula on our breakfast menu and are constantly updating and developing our breakfast offering for our guests while remaining true to our traditions,” he said.
