MABS Kerry cover a wide range of financial situations. An individual’s life circumstances can be unpredictable, as can their financial situations. This is why MABS is an adaptable, holistic service designed to meet different financial environments. Below is a brief overview of some of the key services offered by MABS Kerry:

Personal Insolvency: If you cannot pay your debts when they fall due (such as rent, mortgage, loans on time) then you may be insolvent. One of the personal insolvency options at MABS may be able to help. Part of the insolvency options available include Debt Relief Notices on behalf of people who are eligible. If this is an option, you will be referred to an Approved Intermediary

within MABS who can bring you through the process.

Debt Relief and Budgeting Tools: A Debt Relief Notice (DRN) is for people who have less than €35,000 in qualifying debt, have very few assets and a low income. You can apply through MABS, who will arrange a meeting for you with a staff member called an Approved Intermediary.

If your application is successful, you will be under certain obligations for 3 years. You don’t have to pay anything to your creditors if your circumstances haven’t changed. When those 3 years are over, your debts will be written off. Interacting and liaising with MABS will give you the necessary tools and knowledge enabling you to assess your situation, analyse income and depts and make better budgeting plans.

Abhaile: This helps homeowners find a resolution to mortgage arrears. It provides free expert financial and legal advice from qualified and regulated professionals. It helps mortgage holders in arrears to find the best solutions and keep them, wherever possible, in their own homes. A dedicated mortgage arrears adviser works with you and your lender to find the best solution. If you are in mortgage arrears, a panel of qualified and regulated financial officials will give financial advice. Legal professionals will also be on hand to give legal advice and assistance. Here is two key questions: ‘Will I have to pay to get advice under Abhaile? No. ‘How do I qualify for Abhaile?’ You must be in mortgage arrears on your home, and be unable to pay your debts in full when due. Remember: To get assistance under Abhaile, apply to MABS. If you qualify, MABS will help you to get the assistance and advice you need. You may be directed to the MABS Dedicated Mortgage Arrears (DMA) Adviser. You may also be directed to a Personal Insolvency Practitioner (PIP). A personal insolvency practitioner (PIP) from Abhaile’s panel of PIPs can also help you to apply for help under Abhaile.
