Tralee women hammer Ballincollig to stay top of Division One

TRALEE remain on top of Division 1 after a comprehensive slaying of Cork side Ballincollig at O’Dowd Park. Ballincollig had a decent scrum but Tralee were much more agile and athletic around the field and hit them for 7 tries in total.
Vanessa Dineen, Siobhan Fleming (2), Sinead O’Connor, Laoise O’Driscoll, Ashlea Sheehy, and Diana O’Keeffe the Tralee scorers with Laoise O’Driscoll converting 4 out of her 7 kicks.
MUNSTER CLUB U-18 BOWL
Killorglin 13 Ennis 12
KILLORGLIN produced a brilliant victory to defeat Clare side Ennis in the quarter final of the Munster Bowl competition last Saturday.
Killorglin attacked early and a brilliant intercept from James Byrne almost led to a try for Jamie O’Leary but he was stopped 10 metres from the try line. They were awarded a penalty soon afterwards though and the reliable
Jack Evans made no mistake to push his side 3-0 ahead.
Ennis fought back and scored a try in the corner but Jack Evans made no mistake with his second penalty of the day and Killorglin led 6-5 at the half time break.
Killorglin attacked early in the second half and Cormac Doyke came very close to scoring but was held up by the Ennis rearguard. The Killorglin pressure was relentless and when the opportunity arose, Jack O’Brien pounced for his sides first try wit Evans slotting the conversion to push them 13-5 ahead.
Ennis came at Killorglin and scored a converted try with 10 minutes left on the clock. The last few minutes seemed like an eternity but Killorglin held out and advanced to the semi final.
MUNSTER CLUB U-16 DEVELOPMENT CUP
Castleisland 10 Waterpark 10
CASTLEISLAND were the first to score in this game and by rule were awarded the win after a hugely entertaining contest at the Crageens last Saturday. A try in the first half from Podge Brosnan set the home side on their way, whilst Donal Daly converted and also slotted a penalty. Castleisland will now face Waterford City in an away quarter final next weekend.

Corca Dhuibhne 10 Clanwilliam 7
CORCA Dhuibhne dominated the first 20 minutes of the contest and eventually found a breakthrough when some enterprising play involving Cuán O Muircheartaigh, Jimi Fenton, and Jack O’Neill led to an opening for Jack Curran to crash over. The failed to land the conversion and took the 5-0 lead in at the half time break.
Clanwilliam had the wind advantage in the second half but it was Corca Dhuibhne who began the stronger. Some excellent carries from Mikey Devine ,Dylan Hutch and Odhran Slattery provided a platform for Cuán O Muircheartaigh to crash over for a classic try.
Clanwilliam roared back into the game and scored a converted try of their own. Sensing danger, Corca Dhuibhne dominated the last five minutes of the game and kept Clanwilliam at bay thanks to some outstanding play from Dylan Hutchinson, Josh Brennan, Dylan O’Connor and Tadhg O Beaglaoich.
