COMMUNITY GAMES

Swimming - We had a great day out with a wonderful turnout at the recent County Finals with 7 swimmers at Tralee Sports Complex. For Enrique Walsh and Oliver Bennett, it was their first time competing and both were pleased with their wonderful performances, narrowly missing out on a final place. Both Marianne in u12 Breaststroke and Christopher Kiely in u16 Butterfly, competing in strong finals, were just marginally away from medalling. Both compete at those age groups again next year. Our first medal came early on Sunday when Cormac Scanlan battled to achieve silver in his u14 Backstroke. Then in the afternoon, it was double gold as both Finn and Emer O’Sullivan came first in their u10 Freestyle and u8 Freestyle respectively. It is a fantastic achievement for them as they will represent their club and county in the national finals in UL in May. Congratulations to all for their fine displays, and many thanks to their parents, and Dermot and Ballybunion Leisure Centre for all their support.
