THE 2020 Connect Kerry Hair and Beauty Awards took place at the Rose Hotel on Sunday last, with all the usual style and flair.

Awards were presented to people representing different business categories, as well as a number of honorary awards in recognition of special service.

Event Organiser and publisher of Connect Magazine, Margaret Kissane, said that among the awardees from across the county included Overall Hair Individual Fiona O’Shea, of Peter Mark; Overall Beauty individual Deborah Ambrose, of Expose Beauty; while the Lifetime Achievement Award went to Frances McCarthy of Brush n’ Blush.

Winners from Dingle, Cahersiveen, Kenmare, Listowel and Killarney were also recognised for the contribution they bring to their respective businesses.

Judges for the event were

President of the Irish Hairdressing Council Sean Taaffe; Emma Quirke, hairdresser (twice a winner of Connect awards); and Mary Lucey, Principal of Kerry College, Clash and Denny Street Campus.

Everyone agreed that there were tough decisions to be made on the night, due to the quality and calibre of finalists up for awards.

The judges congratulated all participates and recognised the amazing work they do every day for their businesses and communities.

“We are delighted with the event, which is now an annual event in the calendar,” said Margaret Kissane. “It is wonderful to see the entire county celebrate for one night together and a big ‘ Thank you’ goes to everyone that supported the event. We look forward to welcoming everyone back again in 2021.”
