BALLYBUNION MARKETING GROUP

A note on the Corona virus pandemic and the impact on our beautiful town, please note that some changes have taken place and others may yet follow. This is a rapidly evolving and unique situation for us all, and we owe it to each other to be patient and empathetic now more than ever.

On Sunday a number of businesses announced closures until further notice and more are likely to follow. Additionally, representatives of the government met with the Vintners Federation of Ireland (VFI) and the Licenced Vintners Association (LVA) after which bars and nightclubs have been advised to close.

This recommendation is effective from midnight Sunday night. We know that for any business to close its door for any length of time is a hugely difficult decision to come to, and we understand and greatly appreciate these efforts to protect the most vulnerable in our community. This is an unprecedented situation and the strongest of actions must and are being taken.

Community spirit is the factor that will see Ballybunion and many communities around Ireland and the world pull together to get through this. Look after yourselves. Look after each other. Though in ways this will mean at times we cannot physically be around each other, we must all realise that though apart we can pull together.

Call your friends and family. Call your elderly neighbours and ensure they have all they need.

Cahill’s Supervalu are continuing with a massive effort to keep the shop stocked and to accept orders via phone for delivery around our community. Currently, these orders can be pleased between 9:30am - 3:30pm on 068 27244.

Please adhere to public health guidelines and advice before going to the shops or outdoors. Our resolve and our empathy for each other and those most vulnerable in our community and wider society is the thing that makes us human, it’s what makes us different.

This is going to be a challenging time ahead but together we will get through it. Be kind to yourself and to others.

Lastly, we would ask that you continue to be vigilant and follow public health advice.

The team Ballybunion Tourist Office are continuing to share updates from the businesses around town and will continue to share more information as it comes to light.
