Phelim Drew’s concert now set for July 31 date

-

Like every other event of its kind, Phelim Drew’s gig at Browne’s Bar in Castleisland has had to be postponed.

The rescheduled date is Friday July 31st. at 9pm and at the same venue.

All tickets remain valid for the new date and ticket holders can also request a refund via eventbrite.

“Hopefully by that stage we will have weathered the storm that is Covid-19 and will be sure to have a newfound appreciation of social gatherings with friends and family and the opportunity to celebrate music and song in a live setting,” said organiser, Kate McSweeney.

Phelim Drew is both a talented actor and musician and has recently starred in Once, The Musical, as well as several other productions on the stage, television and big screen.

The son of the legendary Ronnie Drew, this installment of The Island Sessions is sure to be made up of a collection of the songs made famous by The Dubliners as well as some of Phelim’s personal favourites.

The concept of ‘ The Island Sessions’ is to celebrate the musician in an intimate setting with great sound, to listen to the stories behind the songs on their set list and to hear them being performed in a stripped back form.

‘ The Sessions’ create a sense of atmosphere in the town of Castleisland.

These types of gigs should provide us with reason to carve time out of busy schedules and immerse ourselves in music, song and story,” said Kate in a time when everything like that could be and was taken for granted.
