You’ll never have a better opportunity for DIY

-

MANY months from now when the virus has run its course and things return to normal (they will!), you’ll say to yourself, ‘why didn’t I get those jobs done when I had the time?’

Even though we would rather it hadn’t been the case, COVID-19 has landed many of us with unwanted spare time. But translating a negative scenario into a positive one is all we can do, and DIY chores are a great way to utilise free time.

The weather is also changing for the better with drier days and rising temperatures. And even though widespread closures is the norm for businesses, the good news is many hardware and merchant stores are remaining opening to enable people to get supplies (ideal for DIY enthusiasts).

Why not paint the exterior of your home? Better still, why not scroll through some exciting colour schemes and paint the interior, too? Fencing and gates have come through a pretty wet and miserable winter and now is an ideal time to treat them. Spring is also an exciting time as we look forward to spending more time outdoors, so why not give patio and decking areas some TLC?

Nothing exposes a need for DIY quit like exiting wintertime. The added light shows up those jaded and weather-beaten surfaces and corners – inside and outside the house.

Children’s bedrooms are always in high demand when it comes to decorating. Now would be a good time to do this and help distract them from the boredom of being at home. Likewise, with elderly members of the family, what better way to lift their spirits then by tidying up the back yard, planting shrubs, fixing doors and windows. There are many DIY jobs that you can do while abiding by social distancing protocols.

The time is now for DIY. You have no excuse when it comes to free time, freedom and self-motivation. Get thinking; get DIYing.
