TEMPLEGLANTINE
CHURCH NEWS
Parishioners are slowly becoming accustomed to the absence of Sunday mass in the local church, but these are strange times and all must adapt to the situation in which Coronavirus imposes on us. Increased numbers are tuning in to Saturday evening mass on line on the Templeglantine, Tournafulla, Mountcollins Facebook page with Fr Denis as celebrant.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Templeglantine GAA has set up a Community Assistance Group to help with groceries and other requirements for those who may feel uncomfortable travelling for their shopping or would like someone checking in on them. The club has circulated an information leaflet to houses. Further information available on the Templeglantine GAA Facebook page or contact Gerard 0876805188 or Alan 0879982412. Templeglantine Community Alert is also available to assist with shopping and can be contacted at 0876131470
SCHOOL GROUNDS
Major works took place on a section of the school grounds, on the eastern side of the building, during last week. Some evergreen trees which were in poor condition and others which were a hazard were removed. The area had become overgrown and unsightly. The trees had been planted there about fifty years ago and some had fallen in storms in recent years.
ROADSIDE BLOOM
It is a heart-warming sight as one travels along the road through the village area to see the lines of daffodils in full glorious bloom on the roadside. It helps to raise the spirits in these gloomy times. This is the very pleasing result of the Tidy Towns committee work over recent years.
