HEALTH CRISIS

With the country in lockdown mode we all should heed the advice of the medical professionals and the politicians who are doing their best to help us through this on going crisis. With the closure of business that is deemed non essential, schools and colleges closed, church services cancelled and severe travel restrictions in place we are in uncertain times. At least we have the big improvement in the weather and the longer days to look forward to.Once again we are greatful to all the medical professionals and the various workers who continue to provide the essential services that are needed ona daily basis. While it is hard to predict what the future holds we can all play our part by making the necessary sacrifices and follow the guidelines and help save many lives by staying at home.

GAA NEWS

The local GAA club has volunteered its services to the people of the parish who may be housebound or self isolating and in need of shopping, medical or fuel supplies. The club can be contacted through Chairman, Eric O Connor at 087-2230580 or Secretary, John O Connell at 086-1928334.All activities including matches, team training and meetings have all been postponed for the foreseeable future. Football and hurling fixtures at divisional and county level should now be in full swing but we could now be looking at a curtailed programme. If and when the season commences we could be seeing games played on a knockout basis which would be very interesting.

COUNTRY CLEAN UP

The team Limerick clean up which normally takes place on Good Friday has been deferred. With the current crisis all Tody

Towns activities and preparations which include social gatherings will probably be affected. Many of our roads are again in need of a clean up due to those who have little regard for the environment as they continue to fly tip and throw their rubbish on the roadside. Please take your rubbish home and keep our country side clean and green.
