BEREAVEMENT

Sad to learn of the passing of another great former Ballylongford man on Wednesday April 8th last when news filtered through of the passing of Timothy Collins Keeper View, Monaleen Road, Castletroy. Limerick and late of Main Street, Ballylongford. Teddy as he was more affectionately known around this Community died peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at St John’s Hospital in Limerick. He was born and reared in Main Street where he enjoyed his youth in the company of his father and mother and two brothers Fr Joseph and Sean R.I.P. and two sisters Noreen and Eilish. After finishing his education at the local National School he then went on to further study at Pallaskenry where he studied Agricultural Science all paving the way for his employment with the then department of An Foras Talúntais which in later years would become the Agriculture and Food Development Authority or Teagasc where he worked in the Limerick Branch. Despite his very active work in Limerick he kept his very close contact with his birth place and would often call to visit family and friends. Timothy is survived by his loving wife Nancy, his son David, daughter Anne Marie, son in law David, daughter in law Marie and his much loved grandchildren Rory, Enda, Tadhg, Jack and Eve. Sisters Noreen Keane (Ballybunion) and Ailish Dillane (Listowel), brother in law Michael and sister in law Evelyn. Nieces and nephews, cousins Mary Purtill (Main Street) and John Collins (Killarney) Family relatives and friends. All to whom we extend our deepest Sympathies at this time. May Ted rest in peace.
