Contacts have been received from home and abroad regarding many of the events which are featured, and efforts to re-establish family connections with people in the parish which may have been lost over the years.

Anyone with local photographs who may be interested in sharing them can message the page or email them to mountcollinsparishnotes@yahoo.com of contact John Lyons on 06844585 or Seán Lyons on 0863102783.

MOYVANE DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION

hopes you are all safe and well in these unprecedented times. A number of issues have arisen over the past few weeks.

1. Some unauthorised felling and removal of both mature and young trees from the Wood Walk has taken place.

2. Dumping of ashes is taking place in the Wood Walk at the Knockanure end.

3. Littering is on the increase as is dog fouling throughout the walk and village.

Please note dogs should be kept on a lead at all times when in public.

FR. KEVIN

Fr Kevin is doing a great job in the current circumstances. If you would like to watch his Mass on Sundays just go into You Tube and search for Church of the Assumption Moyvane and click on the stained glass window and this will bring you to the You Tube page to view. If you don’t get to see it on Sunday it will still be there whenever you would like to watch it.

STAY SAFE

To all of you out there hang in, keep in touch with everyone you know and especially those you haven’t talked to for a while. It’s good to talk as the saying goes. Look at it like this, none of us are happy with the situation but we don’t live in an apartment 5 or 10 floors up, we have plenty of green fields and right now sunshine and fresh air. We have mobile phones with all kinds of entertainment apps, televisions with entertainment platforms, You Tube, Netflix, Spotify, Vevo etc. etc. If this had happened 20 years ago we would have none of this. The world is a much smaller place and you can now do video calls with your family in any part of the world with Whatsapp, Skype, Zoom etc.

Stay Safe and make sure your neighbours are OK.
