UNSUNG HEROES

Frontline medical staff, doctors, nurses etc and all who work in hospital nursing homes etc ,in any position have been the unsung heroes in the present COVID 19 crisis.

They risk their lives day in day out, in providing loving care and attention for all affected by this deadly and lethal virus.

Not only do these workers risk their lives, but they are also putting the lives of their families at risk. We owe them a huge debt of gratitude and unfailing thanks for their brave services around the clock, seven days a week. Let’s not forget also shop and supermarket assistants, postal workers, pharmacists, delivery drivers, newsagents, priests,

Garda Síochána and all involved in any essential services. They are doing a great job in difficult times to keep the show on the road so as to speak.

GAA LOTTO

Hard to credit that it’s 25 years since Scartaglen GAA Club launched its Lotto Fundraising campaign back in April 1995. The first Lotto Draw took place in Fleming’s Bar. The late Tadhg Brien of Carker who was Chairman of Castleisland Co-Op Mart at the time presented Club Chairman Michael Cremin with a cheque to cover the launching of the Lotto. The Mart also sponsored the Lotto for a number of years. Perhaps it’s an appropriate opportunity on behalf of Scartaglen GAA to thank all who contributed and supported this Lotto for the past 25 years. It continues to be a very vital, important and regular source of income for the local club.
