Moyvane NS says ‘bye’ with sunflowers

-

WITH school looking more and more likely to be out for the summer, both teachers and pupils are missing the daily interactions of school life.

For Murhur N.S in Moyvane though, they are not going to let COVID-19 from stopping them from taking part in school projects.

One such project that they want pupils to take part is their new ‘Sunflower Project’ which will see pupils planing their very own sunflower and helping it to grow.

The school have sent out sunflower seeds to pupils and they are asking pupils to wait until June 5 to plant them.

In a message to pupils about the project, this is what the school had to say:

“We are missing you all very much here at Murhur NS. Enclosed are some sunflower seeds along with instructions as to how to plant them,” it said.

“We would love if every family could take part in our Sunflower Project which will remind us all that we are still growing together while we are apart. If we could all plant them on Friday June 5 as it will help bring us together as a community and we can monitor our progress together,” it continued.

“It will help to remind us that we are all growing together even though we are apart during this difficult time” said school principal Maria O’Regan.

“We realise how difficult distance learning can be and we acknowledge and appreciate the fantastic effort of all our parents and pupils. This is a nice way of remembering our school friends and feeling connected through a combined school project.”

The school has asked pupils to send in their photographs as time goes on so they can all watch and celebrate each other’s progress from afar.
