Tarbert students reap honours in annual awards

- By FERGUS DENNEHY

LIVING in COVID-19 times, we’ve all had to get used to doing things differently and for the students at Tarbert Comprehensive, they got a taste of the ‘ new normal’ as the school held a ‘ Virtual Awards’ ceremony.

For senior students, it was not the ending to their time at the school that they would have envisaged but wanting to mark the occasion for them and for others, the school pulled out all the stops to make it a special event.

One such measure was having a number of special guests take part in the online event and some of these guests included:

- Deirdre Walsh from Radio Kerry’s ‘ Talkabout’

- Shane Casey from the Young Offenders

- Michael Healy- Rae The night was rightly all about the pupils though and all the work they had done both inside and outside of the classroom over the academic year.
