The Kerryman (North Kerry)

A world of choice at Kerry College

-

KERRY COLLEGE is a new, integrated FET college which offers both Further Education (FE/PLC) and Training courses for third-level progression and employment focused opportunities to suit every interest.

With campus locations in Tralee at Clash Road, Denny Street and Monavalley with the Listowel campus catering to the wider North Kerry area.

You can pick a course based on the outcome you want. Choose from full-time or parttime courses for employment, courses for third-level progression and apprenticeships.

If the FET route is something you’re looking at for the Autumn, here are a few things to consider:

APPLY EARLY

It’s advisable to apply early. Social distancing measures will have an effect on the amount of learners that can be accepted onto each course in the Autumn.

PERFORM BETTER AT THIRD-LEVEL

SOLAS released figures in March that show the clear benefits of studying at a FET college. 75% of FET students who move on to higher education complete their degree. By contrast, only 50% of 300-points students who get to third-level via the CAO finish their degree.

MAKES FINANCIAL SENSE

Making the decision to study in Kerry saves time and money. FET students can apply for a SUSI Grant, Training Allowance or Back to Education Allowance. SUSI’s online application system is now open. You need the details of your course choice to apply.

EARN UP TO 390 POINTS

You can achieve a total of 390 points during your year at Kerry College. These points may be used to provide entry to a range of third-level programmes in 2021.

Kasey O Connor studied Applied Social Studies with Psychology at Kerry College last year: “I can openly and honestly say it was the best decision I’ve ever made. It gave me so many practical skills that I brought with me to university. I’m left Kerry College a completely different person. I am now a confident 19 year old and a 1st year English student in UCD Dublin”
