Guinness to provide free social distancing web systems

-

GUINNESS has announced a partnership with with web technology firm ‘AnyExcuse’ to provide free user-friendly health and safety tools for the hospitality industry for a sixmonth period.

With restaurants, hotels now planning for their scheduled reopening in late June and pubs hoping to open their doors again in early August many businesses are busy preparing plans to run their businesses in line with the strict social distancing restrictions that will be placed on them.

To that end the new online tools being developed by Guinness and AnyExcuse are likely to prove extremely useful as businesses get back up and running.

The tools will include a specially designed platform for online table bookings so customers can book and check availability in licenced venues; a system for contactless table service so customers can order and pay for food and drinks from their device while seated at their table; and a click and collect service so customers can order online and collect from outlets.

Guinness and AnyExcuse said that the tools they have designed will provide for the hospitality industry are meant to help businesses in the sector welcome customers into their outlets in a safe and efficient way when they reopen.

“As an Irish tech company in the hospitality industry, anyExcuse has been working hard to develop a solution for trade partners who must reconsider operations and logistics in their outlets,” said AnyExcuse CEO Padriag Stanley.

“We see the future as cashless with mobile table service being an integral part of the socialising experience,” he said.

“Bars and restaurants that introduce mobile table service will provide consumers with the ability to order from their table and will also limit interaction for both them and staff. Venues will also be able to facilitate social distancing and provide a safer workplace for staff.”
