100TH BIRTHDAY

A presentation evening was held in Athea last week for Nora Lynch nee Flaherty of Glasha, Athea on her 100th birthday. Lovely evening of music and song, and Nora being musical also sang.

REACH ACTIVE WORKS

Minor works will be taking place on Thursday and Friday the 11th & 12th June on the Trien road. A full 24 hour road closure will be in place on the Trien Road from 8am on Monday 15th until 6pm on Friday 19th June to facilitate cable installation. There will be no through traffic between these dates and a diversion route will be in place via Shanacool Cross. Cable installation will continue along the Athea Road and up to Knockanure Village the following week under a traffic light or stop and go traffic management system. Note there is a proposal to close the L1021 Ahavoher to Gortaglanna from 6th July to 24th July.

KN WORKS

Alone has launched a national support line and additional supports for older people who have concerns or are facing difficulties relating to the outbreak of COVID-19. The support line is open Monday to Friday, 8am-8pm, by calling 0818 222 024.
