The Kerryman (North Kerry)

A sincere ‘thank you’ to the Diocese for streaming

-

SIR,

I would like to thank the Kerry Diocese, especially our own clergy, for streaming religious ceremonies into our homes these last three months during this difficult time.

They streamed Masses every day, which were offered for our loved ones who had died, with Funeral Masses for loved ones who had recently passed away.

It must not have been easy for the priest saying Mass every day in front of an empty church, trying to lift their spirits every day.

I found tuning into Mass a way of not feeling isolated, reminding us that we are part of the community and we are not alone.

I would like to compliment them on their lovely singing and wonderful homilies, which were spiritually uplifting, particularly if you had a difficult day, and we all have those.

As a child, we were made say the Rosary. We did not want to, but I must say I found the experience tranquil and meditative – when I tuned in it was a form of mindfulness and meditation.

Someone once said, ‘‘It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness”.

Our clergy in our churches have done that in the last three months.

Thank you,

Sincerely,

Jimmy Adams,

Oakpark

Tralee.
