AHERN’S Garage in Castleisland has reported strong demand for the all-new Corsa-e, within days of the first units arriving on their forecourt.
A number of customers have already taken delivery of Opel’s very first all-electric vehicle and orders are now growing for the new 202-July registration period. The new Corsa-e is on offer in SC and Elite trims, retails from €27,338, inclusive of SEAI grant and VRT relief and shares the prestigious Autobest “Best Buy Car of Europe 2020” accolade with its petrol and diesel sister-offerings.
Pat Ahern, Dealer Principal at Ahern’s Garage said: “As soon as the first units arrived in Castleisland, we knew the Corsa-e was very special and we had a number of immediate enquiries in response to our launch advertising, with people travelling quite some distance to view it.
“What’s more is, we are ideally placed to fulfil all sales enquiries right now. We have Corsa-e stock on the ground here at our showroom and more units are available from Opel Ireland immediately, to meet this growing demand.”
He continued: “It’s simply never been a better time to go electric with Opel and Ahern’s Garage. Our very attractive 202July offer of 2.9% APR low cost finance, plus three year’s free servicing, are available across the Opel car range to include the new Corsa-e.
“We’ve also teamed up with Energia, Ireland’s leading independent energy supplier, to make the transition to electric mobility seamless and we’re offering a free smart home charger and 20% off green electricity when they make the switch to Energia. Altogether, that’s incredible value this summer for customers interested in moving to an electric vehicle.”
Sporting a 50-kWh battery, the Corsa-e offers a range up to 337km ( WLTP), an 80% battery charge in just 30 minutes and an 8-year or 160,000km battery warranty / roadside assistance.
Standard features include a 7” colour touchscreen, DAB radio, Apple Car Play / Android Auto, USB connections, lane departure warning with lane assist, speed sign recognition, automatic emergency city braking, hill assist, cruise control with speed limiter, LED headlights, 16” alloy wheels, high beam assist and ISOFIX child seat fixings on outer rear seats.
Subtle design cues nod to its electric powertrain in the form of e-badging on the side windows and boot, whilst added equipment over its petrol and diesel relatives include navigation, automatic wipers and headlights, anti-dazzle rear view mirror, rear parking sensors, electric parking brake, electronic climate control and keyless start. Easy-to-understand vehicle data is displayed on the 7” digital instrument cluster to keep the driver fully informed on battery status and energy usage.
The arrival of the new Grandland X PHEV plugin hybrid and the new Corsa-e gives Opel customers the option to choose powertrain that best suits them and their lifestyle – petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid or 100% electric - without compromising on space, technology, looks or driving sensations.
As the Opel brand ramps up its electrification offensive, the new models, will be joined by a new Vivaro-e later this year, followed by all-electric Combo and Zafira Life models.
A pioneer in electric propulsion for more than five decades, all Opel passenger cars and light commercial vehicles will be electrified by 2024.
