RE-OPENING OF OUR CHURCHES

Our Churches will re-open for public Masses from Tuesday next, 30th June. Our aim is to operate with your support so as to fully protect the health and safety of everybody especially our Senior Citizens and the vulnerable in our Parish. With that in mind the following procedures will be put in place and will be strictly implemented. Please sanitize your hands as you enter and leave the Church. Wear a face mask for your protection, but this is only if you feel comfortable doing so. Sit in a seat of your choice on the section marked with white X only as social distance must be maintained. Either sit or stand during Mass no kneeling. When receiving Holy Communion it will be on the hand only. Approach the Altar following the arrows on a oneway direction that will bring you back to your seat. Where sections of the Churches i.e. long houses are zoned in sections A, B, C, D, only those from one section will receive at a time. Ministers of the Eucharist will NOT go to the back of the Church Communion will be distributed only at the Altar. For those who are physically unable to come to the Altar alternative arrangements are available.

Dispensation from attending Mass on Sundays and Holy Days remains in place. For those fearful about returning to Mass attending during the week when the numbers will be smaller will fulfil your Sunday obligations. A special Mass will be kept each week for those who may feel vulnerable, which they can attend accompanied by a carer if they so wish. Sunday Masses for a while will be for the people of Station districts only as we cannot go beyond the number we are allowed. Hopefully this will not be for long. The exception to this rule will be for those who have Mass intentions booked i.e. Anniversaries you may attend the Mass even if it is not the turn of your station district.

Offertory Collection will now be taken up as you enter the Church. Boxes will also be available during the weekday Masses for your envelopes and dues.

The practice of standing in the porches and at the back of the Church is now strictly prohibited. No group gatherings of more than 5 people to form on the Church grounds. No groups to form inside the Church after Masses. No person to enter Sacristy until further notice. Parishioners with a postal address of Causeway please attend Causeway Church only.

Parishioners with a postal address of Ballyduff please attend Ballyduff Church only.

This applies to Vigil and Sunday Masses only. We would also encourage people not to travel to outside parishes.

Your co-operation on these matters would be greatly appreciated.
