PARISH MASSES

Lixnaw: Mass will be celebrated on: Friday 3rd July 2020 at 7.30pm for Mary McCarthy (First Anniversary) and Saturday 4th July at 7.30pm.

Rathea: Sunday 9.30am.

Irremore: Sunday 5th July 11.00am.

We begin again our Parish Masses on Friday 3rd July at 7.30pm. Our last weekend Masses were on 7th and 8th March. We are in a completely different 5th

July at at situation now with Covid-19.

There are a number of guidelines in relation to beginning Masses again. A social distance of 2 metres is required. Having examined our three churches, the capacity for each is Rathea 35; Irremore 50 and Lixnaw 75. However, the present government regulations is 50, so we have to abide by that number. If it does change to a higher number, we can go to 75.

Sanitizer are in place at the entrance of each door. There will be no kneeling, it is siting and standing. One is encouraged to wear a face mask at Mass. No person is to enter Sacristy until further notice. No missalettes at Mass. Notices in the porch after Mass. Boxes are available at the back of Churches for your envelopes and contributions.

Receiving Holy Communion will only be in the hand. Distribution of Holy Communion will be in the front of the Altar. A table will be placed between the person receiving Holy Communion and the Priest or Minister of the Eucharist.

The Priest will do the Liturgy of the Word or Readings for now.

No standing at the back of the Church. No groups or gatherings of more than 5 people to form on the Church yard. No groups to form inside the Church after Masses. The dispensation from attending Mass on Sundays or Holy Days of obligation remain in place until further notice.

People are encouraged to attend Mass on any day during the week. In this way, it is hoped that parishioners, who would have normally attended Mass on a Saturday night or Sunday morning preCovid-19, can be accommodated at the Masses throughout the week, taking in to account the reduced capacity of the Church.

If one has an underlying medical condition or feels overly anxious about the present situation, it may be advisable not to come for now.

There will be ushers present at the three Churches, who will guide proceedings. Please co-operate with them.
