West’s call for sanctions against Iran smacks of double standards

SIR,

Israel bombed the Iranian Embassy in Damascus killing a number of people.

In retaliation, Iran bombed Israel without much effect.

Israel has been responsible for the unlawful killing of 34,000 Palestinians in Gaza including mostly innocent people, and including at least 14,000 children.

America and their followers are now calling for severe sanctions against Iran without, at any time, calling for similar sanctions against Israel.

Surely this is the worst form of double standards.
