Secret for glowing skin

-

WITH all the red carpet events on at the moment, we can see how celebrity skin is gorgeous and glowing for all their Award ceremonies. Their skin is now getting as much attention as their dresses. Teams of people work on their look. Sure, some celebrities were born with amazing hair and good bone structure. But the shiny, radiant skin they show off on the red carpet? That takes a lot of effort – here are their secrets and how you can do it, yourself, at home.

BUFF AND PREP – Prepare your skin with a good scrub to exfoliate and shine. You can mix a cup of

MATTERS sugar and a half cup of olive oil, then rub it into your damp skin in circular motions. Try this at home, and you won't believe how soft your skin is afterwards. You can also use a pharmacy face or body polish. These smooth the skin and leaves it incredibly soft and radiant.

On places like the chest, neck, and stomach, where the skin is thinner, take it easy with the sloughing. Try using cleanser on a muslin cloth for gentle exfoliation. It will cleanse without damaging and marking delicate skin.

BRUSH UP - Regular dry brushing improves blood flow and, like any exfoliation, sloughs away dead cells and gives the skin a brighter, smoother appearance. If you dry-brush on a daily basis, preferably before you shower you'll probably notice a difference within a week—especially if you follow it with moisturizer. Body brushes are available in most pharmacies.

MOISTURIZE LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE – use a rich body cream or a body soufflé – Sanctuary has a great one with a wonderful aroma so you smell delicious while you have baby soft skin. Apply all over the body as soon as you get out of the shower. Allow time for it to soak in and to ensure that it doesn’t stick to your clothes.

OIL UP - Body oil adds a nice sheen but can be messy. So add body oil to bathwater instead. Add a few drops, soak, then towel off. It's a great way to avoid too much slip on the skin with just the right amount of moisturizing benefits. Or try an oilinfused body balm. .

BUFF ON THE BRONZE – Tan the skin to give it a glow and a healthy radiance. Use a good self tan that will add moisturise to the skin and give a deep, all over colour. I don't like to squirt self-tanner right on the skin. If you have a dry spot, it will attach to that. Instead, apply the tan onto a tanning mitt and swirl it over the skin in circular motions. Run the mitt over your elbows and knees lightly and quickly so they don't get too dark. St Tropez is still my favourite for a natural glow.

HIT THE HIGH POINTS - Highlighter on the body, as on the face, is best only on points—the collarbone, shoulders, shins, tops of the thighs, and maybe the forearms. Illuminators come in different shades now to suit every skin tone. Illuminators are available in pharmacies nationwide

Try these tips and you will be red carpet ready too….
