INSOMNIA GAMING FEST ALL SET FOR KILLARNEY
COMPUTER gamers, young and old, from all over Ireland and the UK, will descend on Killarney this weekend for the first ever Insomnia Gaming Ireland festival.
From June 10 to 13, the INEC in Killarney will be transformed into a gamers’ paradise, featuring console and PC tournaments, appearances by YouTube stars, interactive stage shows, demos of the latest products and retail zones.

SIAMSA PRODUCTION TO TAKE YOU ON A JOURNEY
TURAS is a Siamsa Tíre stage presentation featuring music from all corners of Ireland beautifully interwoven with exciting dance and rich vocals.
A feast of music, song and dance will dominate the Siamsa stage this Saturday and Sunday, June 11 and 12. Experience some thrilling hard shoe Irish dancing along with wonderful musicians on fiddle, piano, percussion and accordion.

BALLYLONGFORD PAYS TRIBUTE TO GDA MCCABE
THE family and friends of slain Detective Garda Jerry McCabe will host a special ceremony in Ballylongford this Sunday, June 12 to mark the 20th anniversary of his death.
Celebrations begin at 2pm when the Garda Ceremonial Unit will march from the church grounds to the McCabe’s former home on Bridge Street. Following speeches from several guest speakers, a plaque will be unveiled in memory of memory of the Detective Garda.
All are welcome to attend this momentous occasion.
‘FRIENDS OF ANTHONY MORIS’ CHARITY CYCLE
THE Friends of Anthony Morris Charity Cycle will take place this weekend, June 11 in a bid to raise funds for Anthony Morris who is suffering from Chronic Lyme Disease.
The cycle begins at Valentia GAA grounds and will finish at Spa GAA grounds. Donations can be made on the day and can also be paid into Cahersiveen Credit Union account number 8870B.

CASTLEISLAND PREPARES FOR STRICTLY DANCING
HAVE the dancing shoes at the ready for this weekend’s highly anticipated Strictly Come Dancing showcase in Castleisland Community Centre.
This Friday, June 10 will see 24 dancers take centre stage in front of a huge 800 supporters of Desmonds Ladies and Muire Gan Smál Primary School. Choreographer, Mary Philpott, has created 14 dance routines which will include one each for 12 couples and two group dances for the finale.
Tickets can be purchased from Muire Gan Smál or Lynch’s Pharmacy, Lower Main Street.
LOTS OF FUN PLANNED AT CROMANE FAMILY W’END
THE annual Family Fun Weekend in Cromane will take place this Saturday and Sunday in the GAA grounds.
The jam-packed weekend will begin on Saturday and will see the history of Cromane National School being celebrated after 130 years in the Community Centre.
Meanwhile a Fun Day will take place on Sunday where there will be a photo showcase, local business stands and musical entertainment.

THE WEST AWAKES FOR DINGLE ADVENTURE RACE
THE Dingle Adventure Race will take over the west this weekend as hundreds are expected to gather to tackle a Multi Activity Adventure Race consisting of three courses.
All entrants must be registered three days in advance of the challenge which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 11.
Participants are advised to bring suitable equipment such as first aid kits, waterproof clothing, small refreshments and a whistle.

GET YOUR RUNNING SHOES ON FOR HALF ON THE HEAD
THE 2016 Half on the Head and 10K run takes place in Ballyheigue this Saturday, June 11.
The half marathon follows a wonderfully scenic course from Ballyheigue Village right around Kerryhead. The 13.2 mile run takes you along the Shannon Estuary with views across the river mouth to the coast of Clare. UNCOUNTABLE LAUGHTER OF THE SEA IN KILLARNEY
A STUNNING film directed by Ballyheigue man Patrick O’Neill and shot entirely in Kerry will begin its summer-long screening next Wednesday, June 15, at Killarney Cineplex at 7pm.
Renowned fashion designer Don O’Neill - the film’s executive producer and brother of the director - will introduce the film at its Killarney premiere this week.
The Uncountable Laughter of The Sea received high praise from the President of Ireland at its Irish premier, describing it as ‘a work of Art’ and ‘a wonderful and moving experience.’
The film travels across the magnificent landscape of Kerry which acts as an abundant expression of Mother Nature’s beauty and mystery. Its described as ‘a meditation over some of life’s questions and is a deeply personal and yet universal journey guided by Monsignor Pádraig O’Fiannachta - an incredible man of service and learning having contributed and enriched the Irish Language via a myriad of publications.
The film was acknowledged as a work of art by The Museum of Modern Art in NYC, while actors Susan Sarandon and Rosario Dawson attended its LA premiere .
