Two clubs to exit hurling championship
IN the replay of the 2016 Garvey’s Supervalu Kerry senior hurling championship round 1 tie last Sunday, Abbeydorney had a 3-13 to 0-10 win over Crotta. This finalised the round 2 pairings as follows: Round 2A [winners group] St. Brendan’s v Causeway and Kilmoyley v Abbeydorney-with the winners of each qualifying for the championship semi-finals.
Round 2B [losers group] Ballyheigue v Ballyduff and Lixnaw v Crotta - with teams defeated in this round exiting the competition.
All Round 2 games go ahead this weekend; there are two games on Saturday with Causeway playing St Brendans in Round 2A in Abbeydorney (7pm) and Ballyheigue playing Ballyduff in Round 2B in Kilmoyley at the earlier time of 5pm.
On Sunday, the action switches to Austin Stack Park where there is a double bill; Lixnaw and Crotta O’Neills get proceedings underway at 1pm in Group 2B while Abbeydorney take on champions Kilmoyley in Group 2A at 2:45pm. Extra time applies in all games.
Intermediate Hurling Championship
In the preliminary round, Crotta had a 1-21 to 1-7 win over Ballyheigue and Lady’s Walk defeated Kilgarvan by 2-18 to 3-11. The round 1 draw is: Dr. Crokes v Lady’s Walk; Kilmoyley v Kenmare; Abbeydorney v St. Brendan’s and Causeway v Crotta.
Credit Union Senior Hurling Leagues
In the semi-final of the Credit Union County Senior hurling league Division 2, Kilmoyley had a 3-19 to 2-8 win over Dr. Crokes. The second semi-final between Abbeydorney and Causeway was deferred until Wednesday, July 13.
Minor Hurling Leagues
Keane’s SuperValu County Minor Hurling league Round 1 results: Lixnaw 3-9 St. Brendans 2-10; Crotta 0-18 Abbeydorney/ Kilmoyley 2-7; Kenmare/Kilgarvan 3-12 Tralee Parnell’s 1-5; Causeway 4-12 Ballyheigue 0-7.
Round 2 results from Monday: Lixnaw 2-14 Abbeydorney/Kilmoyley 3-10; Causeway 3-12 Tralee Parnells 1-2.

Hurling Cúl Camps 2016
The 2016 Kellogg’s GAA Kerry hurling Cúl Camps continue on Monday, July 11 with camps at Lixnaw and Ballyduff.
