Next week lotto jackpot €11,500. Congratulations to Darran and Caolim who represented Kerry in the Munster Finals on Sunday at senior and Minor level. It is a great achievement for a small club to be represented at County Level and Glenbeigh/Glencar GAA wish the lads the best of luck in their respective quarter finals. Glenbeigh/Glencar were dealt a blow to the first division survival on Saturday evening when they were comprehensively beaten by Kenmare 3-14 to 1-10. The lads were coming off two fine wins against Mitchels and Milltown but could not manage to keep the winning momentum going. SENIORS: GlenbeighGlencar suffered a painful defeat away to Kenmare in their fight for division one status on Saturday evening. Glencar/Glencar had shown some good form recently and were confident going into the game. The Glenbeigh/ Glencar managment team were without Darran O Sullivan and Caolim Teaham due to County commitments. The game started well with the lads going into a two point lead with two excellent points from Gavan O Grady and Daniel Griffin but three Paul O Connor frees turned the tie back into Kemnares favour. The first 20 mins were an even affair with Gavan (3) and Bernard Murrphy adding points to leave the game in the balance at 0-05 to 0-06 but the tie changed when a harshly awarded penalty was converted by Paul O Connor. Kenmare had the momentum and scored two further goals in a crazy period for Glenbeigh/Glencar. Tommy Cahill managed to convert a free just before halftime to reduce the deficit but the game was over by halftime. 3-06 to 0-07. Glenbeigh/Glencar make a series of changes in the second half introducing Danny O Sullivan, Jason McKenna, Caoilte Prurcell, Shane O Riordan and Leon Seidler but Kenmare were too strong and with Paul O Connor converting every opportunity that came his way the was no way back for Glenbeigh/Glencar. Gavan O Grady did manage to add 1-03 to his tally but Kenmare notched up a further eight points to win the game 3-14 to 1-10 to take their first points of the season. It was a bad day at the office for the lads who must now switch their attention to a make or break Junior quarter final with Dromid Pearces next week
