Beaufort were effectively at full strength, with Nathan Breen, Ronan Murphy & Liam Carey -- all players to have worn a Kerry jersey in recent years -- available, although Mike Breen was unavailable due as he starts at midfield for the Kerry minors on Sunday. Laune Rangers losses have been well scripted previously -- the side without as many as twelve of the 2015 squad -- while Ronan Sayers=92

unavailability this week & injuries to Conall Kelly & Maurice Foley reduced the size of the squad once more. Beaufort had a strong start and were ahead by three points after five minutes. Daniel Macbeth got Rangers on the scoreboard with a well taken point before Rangers came close to taking the lead, as Kevin Flynn put David Costelloe through on goal but Beaufort=92s Mike Moriarty sensed the danger and got out to stop the forward=92s shot. By the quarter mark, Beaufort had a 0-5 to 0-2 lead with Colm O=92Shea pointing a free for Rangers. Jeremiah O=92Sullivan saw a black card for Beaufort, but this didn=92t faze the home side. Frees by Colm O=92Shea and Kevin Flynn cancelled out points by James O=92Reilly & Fergal Hallissey (free), and Beaufort went to the dressing room at the break with a three point lead. Rangers also lost Kevin Flynn to injury during this time. The Half Time Score:Beaufort 0-7, Laune Rangers 0-3. Francis Courtney increased Beaufort=92s lead at the start of the second half, before Laune Rangers had another goal opportunity. This time, Daniel Macbeth saw his shot zip just outside the post wide. Laune Rangers captain on the day Kieran Crowley was then lost to injury to compound problems for the Killorglin men, and a Colm O=92Shea free was sandwiched by points Fergal Hallissey (free) and Niall O=92Connor to see Beaufort lead by 0-10 to 0-5 with 15 minutes to play. Beaufort would not regress though, and outscored Rangers 0-4 to 0-3 in the final quarter, with Colm O=92Shea & Kieran Doona (2) notching the scores for Rangers. Full Time score:- Beaufort 0-14, Laune Rangers 0-8. The win almost assures Beaufort of Division Two survival. Nathan Breen, Francis Courtney and Liam Carey all put in strong displays, but Fergal Hallissey stood out for them as he was unerring in his free taking and a big presence at full forward. Laune Rangers are still in danger of relegation with four points on the table, but will have three of their remaining four games at home to try to salvage enough points to stay up. Further injuries will cause concern, but the team have a two week break ahead.
