Skellig Rangers 1-16 Churchill 0-8. Skellig Rangers travelled up to Churchill on Saturday evening to play them in the county league , Skellig Rangers got off the mark 10 second into the game with a fantastic point by Brendan o Sullivan from 35 yards out , Mike Keating then added another point straight after , Churchills number 12 registered there first score on the scoreboard from a free , points from Diarmaid Keating and Michael o Sullivan left the score 0-6 to 0-2 with 15 minutes gone , Skellig Rangers were dominating the midfield area with Ciaran Keating and Anthony Keating fielding alot of ball , Diarmaid Keating banged a goal in the 17th minute leaving the score 1-6 to 0-2 , Churchill still didn’t give up and kept the scoreboard ticking over with 2 points from play , just before half time Martin o Sullivan and Ronan o shea got 2 great points from play all down to great turn overs in the backline by Brendan Murphy and Stephen O Sullivan , leaving the half time score 1-8 to 0-4 , Skellig Rangers Ciaran Keating won the throw in and laid the ball off to Bredan o Sullivan who played a great ball into Diarmaid who calmly slotted the ball over the bar from 25 yards out , Brendan Murphy who was superb all game managed to put his name on the score sheet with a fisted point , Churchill got there first score of the second half in the 8th minute with a point from number 14, Diarmaid Keating added 2 frees from 25 yards out leaving the score 1-12 to 0-5 with 13 minutes played , micahel o Sullivan added another point from an acute angle but Churchill still didn’t give up and went up the field and scored a brilliant point from play , Brendan O Sullivan again who was running up and down the wing all night slotted over his second point of the game , Skellig Rangers half back line of Brian Murphy and Gerard o Sullivan were outstanding in turning over the ball , Ciaran Keating scored a cracking point from 45 yards out leaving the score 1-15 to 0-6 with 9 minutes left , Churchill added 2 points with a free from number 14 and a point by there number 12 , Skellig Rangers introduced Alan Devane with 7 minutes remaining his first game back in over 2 and a half month and on his first touch of the ball he banged the ball over the bar leaving the full time score 1-16 to 0-8.Weldone lads a great performance , they now play scartaglin next Saturday in Portmagee at 7:30, all support welcome!!
