ANNUAL OUTING

RAMBLING HOUSE

The July Rambling House in the Sliabh Luachra Cultural and Heritage Centre in Scartaglin will be on Monday evening next July 11th at 9pm. As always admission is free with a raffle and refreshmen­ts on the night.

GAA LOTTO DRAW

Scartaglin GAA Clubs next Lotto Draw will be in Flemings Bar on Sunday evening next July 10th when the Jackpot will be €5600.

WEDDING BELLS

Congratula­tions and all best wishes to Jessica Hewitt, daughter of Sheila and Con Hewitt, Scartaglin and Micheal O’ Callaghan, son of Mairéad and Harry O’Callaghan of St. John’s Park, Castleisla­nd who were married recently in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Scartaglan. The celebrant of the nuptial mass was Fr. Pádraig Kennelly. Jessica and Michael held their reception in the Killarney Heights Hotel, and they will reside in Castleisla­nd.

SUMMER CAMP

Scartaglin Childcare Centre is organising a summer camp again this year and it will take place from Tuesday July 12th to Thursday July 14 , both dates inclusive -- 9.30a.m to 1.00p.m each day. There are 3 fun-filled days with lots of activities and the age group is 3 -- 6 years. The cost is E30 for three days or E12 per day. NOTICE REGARDING MASSES

The Parish Office in Castleisla­nd wish to advise that there will be no weekday evening Mass in Castleisla­nd Parish Church during the months of July and August (except for First Fridays or by special arrangemen­t).

RACES

Castleisla­nd Annual July race meeting is coming on this Saturday the 9th inst and this as always is a great family day out and much money has been raised for local charities by the hardworkin­g race committee, spear-headed by Charlie Farrelly. The races will form part of the Castleisla­nd Summer Festival which runs from Thursday July 7th to Sunday, July 10th.

AFTERNOON OF PRAYER

The next Afternoon of Prayer in Our Lady of Lourdes Church Scartaglen will be on Sunday July 17th when Janice and Moss Carrig will be present. The prayer afternoon will commence as always with The Rosary at 2.30pm and everyone is welcome.

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION

The church gate collection this coming weekend will be in aid of Castleisla­nd Day Care Centre and your generous support would be much appreciate­d.

KNOCK PILGRIMAGE
