Kerry hospitality businesses join Tourism Ireland in new promotion
EIGHT tourism companies – including The Brehon, Killarney Park Hotel, Kerry Convention Bureau and The Malton – travelled to Britain, to participate in a ‘Meet in Ireland’ roadshow and to highlight the Wild Atlantic Way to key business tourism buyers.
The thee-day event – organised by Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland – saw the Irish companies meet, and do business with, some 70 MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and events) buyers in their offices around the Midlands, East Midlands and Greater London regions.
The Irish delegation also had the opportunity to meet with influential buyers at a networking event that coincided with ‘An evening at the Races with The Corrs’ at Epsom Downs in Surrey.
“The superb meetings, incentive and transport infrastructure along the Wild Atlantic Way, coupled with its distinctive scenery and cultural attractions, make this part of Ireland a superb – and easily accessible – choice for the business tourism market in Britain,” said Tourism Ireland Deputy Head of Great Britain David Boyce.
“This was the first time we undertook a business tourism roadshow like this and it was really well received by all of the buyers we met – providing another valuable platform to showcase and sell the island of Ireland and to continue to build awareness of our world-class business and conference facilities.”
“Business tourism is the most lucrative form of tourism, offering significant economic benefits, and Tourism Ireland has an extensive programme of promotions under way to highlight the island of Ireland as a premier business tourism destination in 2016.”
