Disappoint­ment for Kerry Under 16s with Kildare defeat

THE Kerry Under 16s travelled to Athy on Sunday last to play Kildare in the All Ireland C Championsh­ip. Unfortunat­ely they were beaten by a stronger team The girls never gave up and played well. They now play Carlow on Sunday next at 1.15pm in Abbeydorne­y.

Summer Camp

THERE was a great turnout at the Tralee Parnells’ summer camp, which ran for a fantastic 3 days. The fact that kids and parents asked for another day or two is a credit to the coaches and their assistants.

Thanks to all the kids who were great fun. Well done to camp co-ordinator Eamon Fitzgerald his coaches Julianne O’Keeffe, Jordan Brick and Brendan O’Leary. Well done to Parnells players Darragh Reen, Cillian O’Riordan and Sean Hartnett for their help.

Camogie Academy

WE are delighted to announce that Kerry Camogie are organising a Camogie Academy, which is due to place on Tuesday, August 9 and Wednesday, August 10 from 10 am to 2.30pm in Tralee with a number of top class coaches, this is for girls aged between 13-16 years.

A bus service will be provided with pick ups in Causeway, Kilmoyley, Ardfert etc. Cost of Academy €20 which includes bus and camogie t-shirt. Again places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis so if your interested please contact Patrice Diggin ( Developmen­t Officer) on 0870534766 or email Developmen­tofficer. kerry@camogie.ie.

We also encourage you to bring along a friend or two to give camogie a try (helmet and hurley will be provided.

Golf Classic

KERRY Camogie are holding a Golf Classic at Ballyhiegu­e Golf Club on August 13. Teams of four at a cost of €100. Ring the Clubhouse on (066) 7133555 to register and team sheets are also available.

Church gate

KERRY Camogie County Board are having a church gate collection on the weekend of July 30/31 at Causeway masses. Your support is very much appreciate­d.

Sympathy

KERRY Camogie would like to sympathise with the Stack Family of Lixnaw on the sad passing of Hugh Stack (RIP) Hugh’s daughters Ailbhe is presently involved with the Kerry Under 16 Team and Roisin plays camogie with Causeway. Ar dheis de raibh a anam.
